Best parents ever. They took us to all 48 states in this camper, all three kids and a dog.
Jay's been traveling the country in campers since birth and logged 1000s of nights in one, all thanks to some really amazing parents. His first bed in a camper was a crib, then as he grew, it was a hammock his dad built. In Motel 6s it was the bathtub. Later it was the dirt with no tent, or under a truck where it stayed dry, and eventually his own cabin on wheels. All of that pushed him into building campers.
In 2018, Jay built the first full pop-up camper shell on the market. He’d just come off two years living full time in a Roamin' Chariot, a lightweight wedge slide-in. It was one of the lightest campers he could have had, and it still bent his truck’s rear axle and destroyed both differentials. Campers in this segment barely existed then. It took months of searching to find that one, on Craigslist in Cody, Wyoming, and he paid the seller $500 just to hold it for him.
He’d had enough of the wedge and wanted something lighter and roomier. He and his wife had just bought their first house, which had a small garage. Jay bought a Lincoln TIG 200, taught himself to weld, and built the camper of his dreams. He cut the tubing, welded the frame, bonded on the skins, had a coworker stitch the canvas, and set hundreds of rivets by hand. It wasn’t until he was nearly done that he thought anyone else might want one.
Turns out they did. Today thousands of serious campers camp in what OVRLND builds, with several customers buying more than one. Jay has been called stubborn for not building a wedge, not covering every inch in T-slot, and not offering an imported product. He came up dirtbag camping, and he will always build the camper he actually wants to use.
Every OVRLND is still built entirely in-house at the Flagstaff, AZ shop, like it’s going on his own truck.

Maggie - Customer Service Extraordinaire
Maggie is the heart of the OVRLND Campers office. Around the shop, she has the answer for all your questions about campers as well as camping all around the Southwest (and adventuring in the Grand Canyon). She makes sure everything happens on the proper schedule, ensuring every build runs smoothly and every customer is taken care of.
More than just a master of logistics, she is also a dedicated caretaker of our crew, making sure everyone gets a well-deserved treat on their birthday. For every question, every scheduled task, and every employee's well-being, she is our ultimate resource.
Alan - Camper Know It All and Shop Manager
Alan knows all! He is the all-seeing eye of our operation, a workflow whisperer who single-handedly manages the day-to-day chaos and ensures every camper is hammered out with what can only be described as a frightening level of efficiency.
When not actively bending the space-time continuum of production schedules, Alan is out in the Grand Canyon, conquering trails. It is there, in the wild, that he contemplates the deeper meaning of life, of which he has also already figured out the answer.
He brings a similar level of intense focus to his personal passions, specifically his appreciation for a good katana. It’s a hobby that makes perfect sense for a man who treats every production deadline like a surgical strike and every camper like a masterpiece of disciplined craftsmanship.
